3 excuses

3 categories of excuses we must renounce

[things we prioritize instead of God - that would compete for God's rightful place in our lives - i.e. idols]

see Luke 14

1. Business (go out and see field) - our (exciting) JOB - what I can do

2. Possessions (examine my oxen) - our (exciting) STUFF - what I have

3. Family / Loved Ones (newlywed) - our (exciting) INTIMATE FRIENDS - who I know*

When we issue these excuses, God gets angry

And he calls someone else instead of each one of us

The reason he invites others is to teach us a lesson for ignoring his call and invitation

*Are loved ones bad? No, but we must not issue them to Christ as excuses for saying no to his invitations
