Objecting to extravagance

When Judas saw the perfume poured out

When Peter saw the Lord washing feet

Both began, objecting

"NO" they plead

Judas selfishly, Peter similarly

Jesus saw deeply

Saw Abba's sovereignty

And obeyed diligently

Michal saw David dancing

Jonah saw the LORD Nineveh sparing

Both scoffed, mocked

"HA!" they object

Michal condemned, Jonah fled

Not on my watch! They abandoned love

So Pharisees

So with you and me

We must choose to not judge

When others give

As God in Christ did
