He loves you (yeah, yeah, yeah)
He loves you (yeah, yeah, yeah)

Do you remember the old Beatles song - "She loves you" - where the love of a long-lost lover comes as good news?
She loves you yeah, yeah, yeah...
And with a love like that,
You know you should be glad!
It reminds me of our lives - that childhood crush - where you get the note that says - Do you like me, check yes or no! And how the news of a "yes" or a "no" could change our day or even our week as ten-year olds.
At Christmas and perhaps now more than ever, the good news of a lover's distinct "yes" can be the news we've all been waiting for. In Luke 2 we hear the Lord's messengers, the angles, deliver this news in a song and message they had no doubt been rehearsing for ages:
"Good news of great joy that will be for all the people...with whom he is pleased!" (v. 10, 14; ESV)
It's almost like the childhood crush, the Beatle's song, and our deepest heart's desire - to hear the good news that we are somehow accepted by that one whose love we long for more than others - is actually true!
Its the news we've all been waiting for - I know I have! May this good news be enough for you and I now more than ever as we ponder this Christmas the heavenly version of the Lennon / McCartney hit:
"He loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
He loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah...
And with a love like that
You know you should be glad!"
