We stand, rags in our hands

Hurts in our past

Fathers and mothers have hurt us

We cry out for justice 

For a God who will heal us 

Somehow redeem us 

We stand, rags in hand 

And our greatest fear is: 

God is just like us 

Untrustworthy and full of lust 

Lacking in all things just like us 

We fear God will fail, like us
