Proving ourselves

We walk into every situation proving ourselves

Making a way to bring all of our best

Hiding our weaknesses

We consider each day a showcase

Proving our case

Giving the same old speech:

"Look at me! Look at me!" 

But we're not even listening to God's affirmation 

Because we want man's -

Its more immediate and clear 

Or so we think down here

Each attempt is not enough 

So once were done

We offer the world another one

We spill out our love

But wait! We're never ever done

And so we're left alone
