You mock not me but my God who leads

You belittle not me but the God who raised me

The God who saved me from the bears of my youth

can save me now, save me now from you!

You defy not just a people but the God who leads them

Not just the church but the Savior who saved them

You defy Him and you will fall yourself

into the very pit you have dug for me 

For the God who saved me in wilderness years

is the same God, the same God who will save me here
