It's not glamorous to be yourself
It's not glamorous to be yourself
by Joel Howard
It's not glamorous to be yourself
to know who you are
to hide in God's purpose for you
Nobody knows you
when you go deep
and don't seek to raise yourself up
Its not Hollywood or Vegas
to submit to God and his love
But it is dangerous to sell yourself
to raise a shout to earn some love
I have found that the prodigal's path
is the beggar's path
the path of waste and aimless days
May Mercy's eyes draw us
with kindness from sin that blinds us
lest we forget
that through the tears of repentance years
through his blood that clears our record
when fame we forfeit
Then we have enough
When we enter into his love
