Of all that I can't do

The top of my list is changing you,

Friend from whom I long to receive 

love and faith and hope and belief

What comforts me in my limit is 

that I can change the heart of my self time and time again

I can get from the Lord today's grace that I need

to be the best loving friend I can be

In the driest of times when hate seems to win

I can excavate love for brothers in my heart again

Praying for those I've hated to lose

For my heart alone am I allowed to choose
