Be plain
Be plain
a story, by Joel Howard
Ten frogs approached the end of life and met with their community, their sons, daughters and the generation that followed:
Five had lived a life of fame, wearing glitz and glamour
The other five had lived poor, barely escaping disaster
The rich raised their arms to bless the younger generation
and gave them advice to be brave and bold to dress just like them
"If you amount to half as we, you will be rich just like us"
they said, while the poor frogs gave their own advice to bless
"Be plain." they said quite plainly to the grimace of the others
"Be plain, be slow enough to pay attention to your brothers
Be plain in all you do and don't compare you to another
Be plain in grief and pure in joy" and all the froggies wondered
