I see me in my mother's womb

I wonder and I ponder

I see me as a little boy

I offer him my kindness

I see me as a growing child

I try to smile towards him

I see me as a teenager

I reach out to hold his hand

I see me now college-aged

I laugh at his jokes

I see me as a young adult

I give him space to share his mind

I see me as a married man

I grieve where he is grieving

I see me as a father

I work with him

I see me in this very hour

I invite him to wait
