I've been thinking of my son

and my daughters

my children three

I've been thinking of trees.

and families.

Families of trees.

One must watch another grow.

And the height of another

Spurs on the growth of the other

The bigger, the smaller

The son, the father

The daughter, the mother

So let me be

a big, tall tree

So that my children, three

Can watch, grow and see

How tall they, too, can be
