What Job had
What Job had
Joel Howard
In possessing nothing
We see what Job had
A faith so great
Nothing on his plate
Scars, weights
But inner contentment
No regrets in
Spending his life in earnest
Mary, mistreated
"Sinner!" misunderstood and
Holding her ground she
Waited for mercy
"Joseph, receive me"
Gabriel delivered the message
Of the baby
Of all the wealth inside her
A thought-ful of treasure
To ponder thereafter
Paul had reason to boast
Engaged, he compared to the most
Danger upon danger
Still upon danger
Made him aware of the nothing
Of those things
And once having nothing
He realized something
This very weakness
Was his only ticket
To Grace all-sufficient
So, my circumstances
Are less than romance's
I lose what I would gain
And have what I'd do without
Let me not squirm or shout
But, humble, tell about
All that You gave me
And its sufficiency
Though my hands be empty
Lord, look what You've given me!
