Great was their fall

Great was their fall
by Joel Howard

In a dream last night
I woke up with fright
I had seen the falling of many

Only one stood there
Righteous, true and fair
I had seen the falling of many

Not one of their bones
Not one of their bones
Not one of their bones, You say, will be broken

Not one of their bones
Not one of their bones
Not one of their bones will be moved

But these many men
These stouthearted men
Though they had all the arms and the strength and the fame

They attempted much
They strived for much
But in the end, they fell like the wind

And great was the fall
The fall of them each
And I could hear the sound of their bones as they broke

And all those who watched
Could see without doubt
As the strength of the nations came down to the ground

Not one of their bones
Not one of their bones
Not one of their bones, says the LORD, shall be bent

And the Victor, He!
Stood all by Himself
As the Father pronounced, Yes this is my Son!

And the Victor, He!
Won not by arms
But by the perfection, the mint, the renoun

"Mint not arms"
Was the title of Him
Not by strength or horses, or will-power within

"Mint not arms"
Was the prize we, too, win
Not by power, nor might, but by the Spirit of Christ
